Where domestic electrical work is notifiable under Part P and falls within our registered scope, the required Building Regulations notification can be completed through the Competent Person Scheme.
Where certification is required for the work being carried out, the appropriate electrical certificate will be provided.
Depending on the job, this may include an Electrical Installation Certificate, Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate or Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) .
Certificates should be kept with your property records for future reference.

The timescale depends on the type of work, accessibility, the condition of the existing installation and anything unexpected found once work starts.
As a general guide, a consumer unit upgrade will often take around a working day, while an EICR on an average property may take several hours. A full house rewire will normally take several days and requires more planning.
